This year, the Monaco Yacht Show – under the high patronage of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and running from September 28 to October 1 – welcomes not only yachting aficionados from around the world, but also luxury-car fans. During the four-day show (daily pass from €150, four-day pass from €480), more than 100 nautical-related events are organised at the principality’s luxury hotels, onboard the floating works of art and at Yacht Club de Monaco’s Foster + Partners-designed building, but 2016 introduces a new concept – “the Car Deck”.
The supercar show is located on Quai Rainier 111, Port Hercule, alongside the show’s megayachts – with a 230sq m bar/lounge. On display – and available for purchase or test drives around the principality – expect to see supercars such as Lamborghini’s new Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder (0-100kph in 3.4 seconds, from €170,000); Rolls-Royce’s new Wraith-based convertible “Dawn” (from €330,000); and Tesla’s Model S P90D (from €77,000) – the world’s fastest-accelerating four-door electric vehicle with a range of over 500km on a single charge.
These will be shown alongside 125 of the most desirable yachts in the water (including 40 vessels making their world premiere), showcases for the latest trends in naval architecture, platforms for the technological gadgets and nautical accessories of tomorrow, and an eclectic selection of luxury tenders and add-ons for watersports and leisure-at-sea activities.
