An epic 47-day journey retracing the legendary Silk Road

From Beijing to Istanbul, led by Wild Frontiers

The Silk Road was civilisation’s great arterial network; some 4,000 miles long and 2,100 years old, it transfused commerce and culture, science and spirituality from east to west, crossing (among many other lands) modern-day China, Iran, Uzbekistan and Turkey. Departing September 12 next year is an epic 47-day journey, which is likely to be led by the ceaselessly intrepid Jonny Bealby, founder/director of Wild Frontiers(www.wildfrontierstravel.com). The Great Silk Road Adventure (£9,500 per person, excluding international flights) will trace the route from Beijing to Istanbul, following in the footsteps (sometimes literally) of the trade caravans that plied the roads a millennium ago.
