Find a slice of England in the Bernese Alps this year as The Alpina Gstaad plays host to three luxurious lodges, each inspired by Nyetimber’s different sparkling wines. Located in the five-star hotel’s grounds, the lodges provide a place for guests to relax, drink and dine while overlooking the surrounding Saanenland.
Inside each cabin, guests will be treated to food and wine pairings curated by The Alpina’s executive chef Martin Göschel, featuring menu highlights from the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurants Megu and Sommet, as well as nibbles from The Alpina Lounge & Bar. With service available from 10am until 9pm, guests can opt for a leisurely midday meal or a sunset sip, complete with a hearty dinner. For those interested in sampling Nyetimber’s Tillington Single Vineyard 2013, it will be paired with a bountiful seafood bouillabaisse (SFr580 – about £470 – for two), while a Blanc de Blancs from that same year will be served with seabass ceviche tacos and sole for two (about £360), alongside roast potatoes and grilled asparagus. The pièce de résistance, however, promises to be the 1086 Rosé (about £750) served with a pasta all’aragosta starter, followed by The Alpina’s signature surf and turf – a decadent beef fillet and half lobster.
For the finest sparkling wines from the south of England served – on tap, no less! – in secluded Swiss splendour, book now for a delicious, idyllic escape.
