Tennis and football enthusiasts keen to up their game will find sun, sea and professional sports training at Greece’s Sani Resort this summer – home to five five-star hotels on the scenic Kassandra peninsula. Retired footballer Paulo Ferreira – winner of two Primeira Liga cups and three Premier League titles, who played with both Porto and Chelsea during his career – will be in residence at the venue from June 16 to 21 to teach children (ages four to 16) tactics and footwork skills, while adults looking to improve their volley or backhand can benefit from the expertise of Toni Nadal, Rafael (Rafa) Nadal’s tennis coach, on a five-day course (July 21-28) at the resort’s new Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre, which opened in April.
Nadal’s tennis programme employs the training techniques that took Grand Slam-winning Rafael Nadal to the world’s number one spot with guests of varying abilities, who will meet at the clay court facility built in partnership with the sports star. The coach will help them with technical and physical preparation as well as personal and mental training, whether they want to add power to their serve, cover the court with more speed and agility or learn more about pre-match nutrition.
The tennis course is priced from €360 per person, while the Chelsea Football Club Foundation’s five-day coaching course for children is priced from €240.
