The increasingly well-catered-to Square Mile in London is now home to a smart new Four Seasons hotel, its address a glorious listed Victorian landmark. Four Seasons at Ten Trinity Square (www.fourseasons.com; from £400), with just 100 rooms (but also 41 fully serviced residences and, later this year, a private members’ club), has a lot going for it, not least a dead convenient, and very atmospheric, location just across the road from the Tower of London and a stone’s throw from the Thames. There are also rooms that capitalise on the soaring 2m ceilings held over from the original building, and a bevvy of bars and restaurants manned by the likes of three-Michelin-starred Anne-Sophie Pic.
