Polo Ralph Lauren steps in a new direction

A debut tailored collection in fresco wools, linen and silk mixes

Polo Ralph Lauren steps in a new direction with a debut tailored collection in fresco wools, linens and silk mixes. Particularly distinctive are lapels cut “on the roll” (so as to swell out and not appear machine-pressed flat). All jackets are semi-canvas, with natural, handstitched shoulders, and there are three styles, including Bedford, with a bold-shouldered silhouette inspired by equestrian style, and Polo. A jaunty check Princeton sports jacket (£595) paired with gabardine trousers (£255) has signature collegiate flair, while the grey and cream stripe Princeton suit (£595, pictured with optional waistcoat, £195), doeskin blazers (£395) and linen jackets (£395) with matching trousers (£195), are more subtle. Heraldic crests on Oxford shirts (£160) and Repp stripe ties (£85) finish the look splendidly.
