The London-based luxury luggage brand Troubadour has a cult following for its minimal branding and predominantly leather monochrome bags. It is the go-to label for the man who wants the perfect briefcase or weekend bag – made from innovative waterproof leather in Italy, constructed to last a lifetime and without words all over it.
While black leather is the label’s thing, its take on the classic tote – launched three years ago – mixes nylon with hide elements to create something casual, functional and totally Troubadour in its minimalist styling. On June 9, the limited edition range of Summer Totes (£245) goes on sale, with the same construction as the classic bag, but in blue, yellow, red, khaki, grey or orange. Twenty-five of each colour will be made. The main canvas body is complemented by leather handles that have been crafted by total immersion in dye, so it fully permeates and won’t scratch or wear off.
“Summer is a really special time, when some of our best memories in life are made,” explains Troubadour co-founder Abel Samet of the decision to inject colour into the brand for the season. “The weather is warm, people are happy, and it’s a great time to go on a new adventure. With that spirit in mind, we have extended beyond our popular black nylon to a range of more colourful totes. These colours are warm and ideally suited to whatever you have in store for summer.”
The Troubadour Summer Tote is the perfect bag for picnics and beach trips, with a hanging pocket inside with elasticated sections and another zipped pocket for valuables. The design incorporates side snaps to slim the bag down when you need less capacity. As Samet says: “A good classic tote is lightweight, comfortable when held and easy to open and access.” The Troubadour Summer Tote is all this with a feel-good twist.
