The Dolce & Gabbana high jewellery laboratory in Italy was founded almost a decade ago, to extend the brand’s couture capability. I greatly admired its Alta Sartoria men’s custom range when it launched in 2015; now the house is offering Alta Gioielleria cufflinks to complement the extravagant finery. I am particularly struck by charming swallow designs (from £3,450) in yellow gold with transparent black and green enamel and pavé gems, capturing as they do a particular romance of Dolce designs of old. A pair of dragon cufflinks (from £3,450), also in yellow gold with red enamel, have pavé settings in the scales and a single white diamond in the mouth. More frivolous fun is supplied by a pair of mother-of-pearl pistols (from £2,250) in yellow gold, each bearing a little red enamel heart.
