There are many reasons why Isabel Ettedgui’s new Connolly shop on Clifford Street is a must-visit: the plush Gilles et Boissier interior, the beautiful Murano glassware from Yali — but mostly the clothes. Outstanding are the crepe and cotton bib-front shirts (£450) and tailored stretch flannel trousers (£270), along with pieces like woven Charvet belts (£235). Outerwear, too, such as a cashmere pea coat (£1,850) and a navy wool blouson (£950) has a pronounced clout. There are also chic stretch knit cardigans (£230) and Connolly’s iconic leather goods – where it all started for this company – aptly represented by its signature helmet (£160) and goggles (£130).
