Singita has 12 safari lodges and camps across South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe and works with local communities to improve infrastructure and on sustainable agriculture projects to help protect the flora and fauna of over one million acres of land. This year it launched a new collection of conservation safaris called Safaris with a Purpose, one of which will be a five-night trip to Singita Explore, a tented camp in Tanzania’s Serengeti.
The main event is an all-female, 90km, multi-stage run spread out over three days. In the evenings guests can go on game drives to see lions, cheetahs, giraffes and rhinos; enjoy food and wine pairings; and relax around the campfire. The trip, from October 19 to 24, costs $1,413 (excluding flights), plus a $15,000 donation that will help fund the charity BRAVE’s empowerment and leadership programmes for young girls and women in the local community.
