Art For Cure: from Maggi Hambling to Ed Sheeran

Raising funds for Breast Cancer Now, the arty way

In 2014, when friends Belinda Gray and Sally Ball launched their biennial art exhibition, it became the largest private-event donor to breast cancer charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer (which became Breast Cancer Now in 2015) – raising over £100,000 in a single event. Over the UK’s first May bank holiday weekend (April 30-May 2), they are back in a bigger venue, the glorious Glemham Hall on the East Suffolk coast.

The roll call of over 80 artists and sculptors includes Maggi Hambling, who will have three new works for sale (each £7,500), Vanessa Gardiner, Carol Peace, Henrietta Dubrey (Duende, first picture, £1,145) and John Brown (Family Circle II, second picture, £9,000).

This year the sale will also include the Make Your Mark auction, featuring artwork from a line-up of musicians, actors and other high-profile creative luminaries – including Ed Sheeran, Mark Rylance, Dominic West, Jim Broadbent and Dame Joan Collins.
