Penelope Chilvers safari rucksack for conservation charity Tusk

Adorned with embroidered badges designed by African children

Footwear designer Penelope Chilvers is best known for her bespoke Dandy slippers worn by the likes of Cate Blanchett and the Duchess of Cambridge, but for her collaboration with conservation charity Tusk – to mark its 25th anniversary – she has created a safari-inspired rucksack, with 20 per cent of the sale price going to the charity.

In khaki canvas with leather edging, the bag is adorned with embroidered badges designed by African children participating in Tusk’s charitable sports initiative Coaching for Conservation, which is endorsed by the Duke of Cambridge and David Beckham.

Tusk supports more than 50 field projects in 18 African countries and since 1990 has invested more than £25m in initiatives to protect wildlife and alleviate poverty in rural communities through sustainable development and education.
