Never has one of those free samples handed to me at a department store ever actually converted to the sale of said product. Until this one: Aerin’s Rose Lip Conditioner (£20), a lightweight moisturiser for the lips with the merest hint of pink, had me at the first swipe.
Aerin Lauder, granddaughter of Estée and generally stylish beauty-mogul-about-town, launched her eponymous beauty line last year, as part of the Estée Lauder brand. This particular little tube of gloss is pocket sized and packed with intensive skin conditioners that nourished my chapped lips with luxurious intensity.
The conditioner’s hue adds just the right amount of colour on its own, but it also provides a beautiful shimmer when applied over another shade of lipstick. And, unlike other lip balms, sticks and oils, this one stays put – for hours.
Even after this long, harsh winter, my lips remain luscious – and I put this down to my multiple daily applications. Add to its efficacy its soothing rose scent, and this beauty staple is now a handbag essential.
