You could say it’s mauve, or perhaps mulberry, but Globe-Trotter defines the colour of the new limited-edition luggage in its Deluxe Collection as amethyst. Each piece in the Deluxe Amethyst range – from the small 7" London Square case (£1,130) to the 30" trolley case (£3,065) – is finished in the sophisticated purple tone reminiscent of vineyards and fields of lavender. As with all of the brand’s designs, each piece is handcrafted by the company’s team of artisans at its factory in Hertfordshire.
“We've looked at semi-precious and precious stones after launching a sapphire finish earlier this year, and felt amethyst would work perfectly for the winter,” says Globe-Trotter’s director James Fisher. “We’ve produced a limited-edition run of 50 of each case size, which I predict will be sold out long before February, the month of the birthstone.”
In addition to the sizes above, there is a Deluxe miniature case (£1,270) and Deluxe trolley cases in a variety of sizes, including 18" (£2,015), 20" (£2,110) and a 26" version (£2,535). The designs will go on sale on November 1.
