Alber Elbaz has dipped in and out of fashion since his departure as creative director of Lanvin in 2015 – where his influence went far beyond the creation of sublime womenswear. Now, the designer is back with one of his first luxury-brand collaborations since leaving the French fashion house – as part of the Tod’s Factory initiative.
The range takes the brand’s heritage and adds a dash of Elbaz jollity. Loafers have been reworked in bold neoprenes in cobalt blue or poppy red, with chunky wedge soles (£450), or in metallics (from £595). Meanwhile, a metallic fuchsia shoe with matching wedge and gold buckle is tailor-made for the Instagram generation (£595, available from September).
Elegant bags are also included in the mix, from embossed leather totes (from £1,205) to small hobos (from £855).
