Joseph Altuzarra has become “one of the most buzzed-about young designers in the business”, yet his debut luxury label hit the stores just 10 years ago. To mark this anniversary in suitable sartorial style, he has launched a limited edition collection of 10 reissued outfits from past collections. Altuzarra has named the ensemble The One That Got Away, having asked some of his closest female friends and clients to select key pieces from his oeuvre, which they regret not snapping up first time around.
Each woman has a different look and lifestyle – but all share a sharp aesthetic and have selected pieces that showcase Altuzarra’s mastery in tailoring. Take the flawlessly cut black trouser suit (Acacia jacket, £2,995, and Vespa trousers, £1,190) featuring abstract sheer panels chosen by actor Evan Rachel Wood; and the metallic silver Acacia jacket (£5,235) worn with casual wide trousers, hand-picked by former J Crew president Jenna Lyons, who now runs a fashion and lifestyle television show.
The designer’s sexy take on the female form is evident in stylist Vanessa Traina’s choice – a high-split gingham Kieran shirtdress (£1,195), and magazine editor Caroline Issa’s pick of a print Bellini maxi-dress with lace trim (£6,950). Last, but by no means least, former French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld’s shapely, strapped Driftwood skirt (£1,590) is the epitome of edgy chic. The collection is available at Joseph’s London multi-brand store.
