The annual unveiling of the Claridge’s Christmas tree is one of the highlights of London’s holiday calendar, and this year’s creation, which will be revealed on Tuesday November 27, has been designed by fashion icon Diane von Furstenberg – who has also created a celebratory capsule collection with the same theme.

Von Furstenberg – who is keeping her vision under wraps until the big reveal – says she “looked to the stars” for the inspiration behind her Tree of Love installation – a towering fir that will reside in the art deco lobby of Claridge’s, and is the ninth in a series of creations previously designed by luminaries such as Domenico Dolce and Stefano GabbanaKarl Lagerfeld, Christopher Bailey and Jony Ive and Marc Newson – who, in 2016, turned the hotel’s entrance into an immersive winter wonderland.

In keeping with the celestial theme, the designer has come up with a capsule Zodiac collection, which includes silk pyjamas ($228-$248) and negligees ($198) in shades of the night sky, along with light-blue cashmere scarves ($178) and celestial silk eye masks ($68) that will serve as mementos of the holiday season but can be worn year-round.
