Cartier kicked off the festive season with panache with the launch of its sumptuous, cerulean silk limited edition Panthère de Cartier clutch (£2,190) earlier this month at the New Bond Street store. Now it ups the ante with the opening of The Cartier Room at Harrods in early December, which promises more one-of-a-kind and limited edition finds just in time for Christmas.
For her, fine jewellery watches on offer include the white-gold, pavé diamond and ruby Clé de Cartier Serti Vibrant (£206,000), as well as an iconic Ballon Bleu de Cartier (£95,000) embellished with brilliantly coloured parrot and floral marquetry. For him, there’s a one-off Rotonde de Cartier watch (price on request) with a Harrods-green dial, a double tourbillon Mysterious pocket watch (£315,000) and a set of three Rotonde de Cartier platinum watches in a velvet box (five numbered pieces; price on request).
More Panthère clutches include five (price on request) in rich malachite-coloured crocodile and goatskin adorned with a glittering Panthère closure, while for non-feline fans, there’s the chic anthracite grey ostrich and calfskin Louis Cartier 24h bag (price on request) in an edition of three.
Standout personal luxuries include a sterling-silver and black-lacquer fountain pen with solid 18ct gold nibs and chunky nephrite jade stands (£22,100), of which only one has been made, and a limited edition of 100 striking silver and jade cufflinks (£720).
Here’s to something glittering under the tree…
