My new favourite lipstick is called Tranquille and is, apparently, inspired by yoga. It's made from 70 per cent natural and organic ingredients, and while the yogic link ends there for me, I’m nevertheless hooked on this supremely moisturising lipstick by Y et Beauté in a subtle rose shade. Not only is the colour perfect for both everyday and eveningwear, its nourishing mix of ingredients – sweet almond oil, shea butter oil, jojoba seed oil, rice bran and beeswax – give it healing powers for parched winter lips.
Y et Beauté is a newly launched line of 10 luxurious made-in-Italy lipsticks ($32 each) created by Esther Widjaja, whose CV includes stints at Estée Lauder, Clinique, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and NARS. Her shades range from a rich brown to my rose pink; there’s a saturated, mauve blend called Soho, the earthy pink Bisou, No 11 (named after Widjaja’s favourite Ashtanga yoga pose), as well as elegant violet and raspberry tones inspired by her travels in India.
The lipsticks’ staying power is impressive too – one satiny swipe lasts for hours – and their sleek glossy casing, more common with the likes of Tom Ford and Chanel than natural beauty brands, seals the deal.
