Sea Bags upcycled clutch and tote help conserve sea turtles

Supporting the work of the nonprofit Sea Turtle Conservancy

Founded in homage to Maine’s centuries-old maritime culture, Sea Bags makes nautical accessories with a difference – all its products are handcrafted from upcycled sails.

To celebrate World Sea Turtle Day on June 16, 20 per cent of sales of its turtle-motif clutch bag and tote – both printed using eco‑friendly inks – will go to the Sea Turtle Conservancy until June 23. The organisation has been protecting the turtles of the Caribbean, Atlantic and Pacific for almost 60 years and the money raised will help fund projects such as fitting new turtle tracking devices, as well as the nonprofit’s research and conservation initiatives.

“Anyone who has ever encountered one of these magical creatures can see why they are so special,” says Sea Bags president Beth Shissler. “We are thrilled to be part of this project.”
