Rosamosario: luxe Italian lingerie launches online

From delicate silk-chiffon robes to retro-cool swimwear

“The music of Naples, the blues of Sicily, the greens of the Alps and the snow whites of my hometown have created my castle of products.” So says Italian entrepreneur Carlotta Danti of her couture lingerie label Rosamosario, which lives up to the evocative, romantic description with a plethora of exquisite materials – raw Chantilly lace, opulent silk chiffon and silk-covered buttons.

Launched in 2005, the luxurious, made-in-Milan creations immediately caught the attention of retailers like Bergdorf Goodman and Net-a-Porter, and Rosamosariohas since garnered a cult following. Eleven years later and Danti has produced a new website where her candy-striped and gold-lace-trimmed silk crepe Amori bodysuits (€510, first picture), boxer shorts (€370), camisoles (€440) and kimonos (€1,050) can be bought in a range of delectable colours – from Magici aquamarine and Violati lilac, to monochrome Inconsapevoli.

Playful, often Italian, names are a charming Rosamosario feature: the Como Ti Amo silk-chiffon robe (€1,340, second picture), for example, is truly sumptuous, while the Bambinella I Love You line showcases delightful details such as Swarovski side-button closures on a bodysuit (€550) and a tuxedo collar on a wrap jacket (€740). Upping the femme-fatale factor are the Forever in Love red silk-georgette cape dress (€1,480) with antique gold trim, and the hand-embellished black tulle Zorro & How Lovers Do corset (€980, third picture), while lace underwear sets (from €790) with bustier bras and high-waisted briefs add a dose of retro cool.

Vintage vibes also take centre stage in Danti’s beachwear, which includes the 1950s-style Fiori di Sorrento floral bikini (€255), as well as the more daring Tarzan Loves Jane leopard-print dress (€527) and silk/satin dungarees (€598). And since each Rosamosario piece is individually made, past bestsellers can also be made to order online: the high-waisted briefs (€696) adorned with a bursting, silk/satin flower were once worn by Kate Moss, while a punchy gold-sequined bodysuit (€1,100) has been photographed on Natalia Vodianova.
