Thursday December 13 brings a special treat in the horology advent calendar, as Hermès launches two limited edition timepieces designed in collaboration with online watch platform Hodinkee. The partnership marks only the third time the venerable French luxury-goods maison has collaborated on a timepiece with an outside brand – the first joint venture, with Jaeger-LeCoultre, produced the Atmos desk clock, and the second conjured the now iconic Apple Watch Hermès.
The latest collaboration is based on two existing watches – the Slim d’Hermès GMT (limited edition of 24 pieces, $14,700) and the Slim d’Hermès Time-Only (100 pieces, $7,650). Both the Time-Only version in steel and the GMT design in palladium are engraved with the inscription “Edition Hodinkee” and feature “unique” blue dials with matching leather straps. The latter has been limited to a collection of just 24 watches because Hermès’s flagship Parisian store resides at 24 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Both designs will be available from today on the Hodinkee website.
