BA launches a new business-class route to JFK

The first of a package of new routes for the airline

If you fly regularly between London and New York, it’s worth noting that British Airways ( is launching a new business-class-only route out from London City Airport to JFK at the end of this month. On October 25 a further package of new routes begins, with the first-ever BA flights to Las Vegas, the Maldives, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and Sharm El-Sheik, plus a resumption of the route to Montego Bay in Jamaica.

It’s too bad that, because they are aimed at the leisure market, there’s no First cabin on these routes, so passengers won’t get a chance to benefit from the redesigned Anya Hindmarch washbags, nor the quintessentially English afternoon tea, dreamed up – unexpectedly – by a German, chef Henry Brosi, who oversees the kitchens at London’s Dorchester hotel.
