London’s five-star St James’s Hotel and Club has launched a new experience aimed at automobile-loving foodies. The “Fuelling Passion” package offers two people the chance to spend a night in the bijou Mayfair bolthole before being transferred to the historic Brooklands race circuit in Weybridge, where a Morgan, Atalante or Healey sports car will be waiting for them – together with details of a driving route through some of the most scenic parts of the Surrey Hills.
Racing and rallying professional Zoë Whittaker has prepared the route and, depending on availability, will take part in the tour – which includes the option of lunch at The Dabbling Duck in Shere, near Guildford, or a gourmet hamper prepared by William Drabble, executive chef at the St James’s Hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant Seven Park Place.
The drive lasts around four hours and returns to Brooklands, where guests are transferred back to the hotel in time to enjoy a Michelin-starred tasting menu and wine pairings. The experience will be available from June 1 to October 31 for £990.50 per couple, including transfers, car loan, all meals, overnight accommodation and breakfast.
