A hot new holiday villa in Marrakech

Azzaytouna and its neighbours are perfect for a 26-person party venue

The sere elegance of the Palmeraie in Marrakech has long attracted those seeking the privacy of a staffed home with the tranquillity and luxury of expansive gardens and easy access to Jemaa el-Fna and the medina’s retail temptations (and then an escape from both, if and when exotica fatigue sets in).

As of last month, one of the area’s most spectacular private estates is offering a new villa option, Azzaytouna (www.ezzahra-morocco.com; from £1,500; pictured). Its three bedrooms (two with private pools), multiple indoor-outdoor lounges, candlelit Berber drinks tent and sleekly imagined interiors (by Philip Hooper of Colefax & Fowler) add up to small and intimate, but still supremely luxurious, accommodation. Not that “small” has to be the mandate: the estate’s other two houses, seven-bedroom Villa Ezzahra and two-bedroom Villa Alkhozama (prices on request), can be taken over too, creating a perfect party venue accommodating up to 26 revellers.
