When the great, good and glamorous descend on Utah

A new resort opens just in time for Sundance

January 21 heralds the arrival of the Sundance International Film Festival in Park City, when that industry’s great, good and glamorous descend on the ski towns of Rocky Mountain Utah. Opening just in time to accommodate the VVVIP demands of starlets and studio taipans alike is the 181-room St Regis Deer Crest (pictured; www.stregisdeercrest.com; doubles from $740) in Deer Valley.

The resort’s alpine-style Ski Beach should keep the European film financiers in their comfort zone, while the Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurant, J&G Grill, is an ideal venue for the Olympic-calibre schmoozing at which their Hollywood counterparts excel. (The Olympic-calibre skiing’s nothing to sneeze at, either: Deer Valley played host to the Winter Games in 2002.)
