In Paris, an invigorated food scene is sweeping through the Rue du Vertbois in the Marais. La Jeune Rue (www.lajeunerue.com; first picture) is a new design and gastronomy project that reads like an awards list at Milan’s Salone Internazionale del Mobile. It is the creation of financier Cédric Naudon, and the first run of openings have featured a butcher’s shop by Michele De Lucchi, an oyster bar by Ramy Fischler and a Korean street-food restaurant by Paola Navone. Another 30-odd stores will follow this year and into 2015, including a speakeasy by Ingo Maurer and a bistro by the Campana brothers.
