Few points on the Amalfi Coast evoke the glamour of the dolce vita as deftly as Ravello, home at various times to luminaries ranging from Richard Wagner to Gore Vidal. This month, Belmond Hotel Caruso (belmond.com; from €836), a jewel on the hill high above the Tyrrhenian, debuts a new residence, one that will please the most discerning of aesthetes. Villa Margherita (from €9,680), set in the hotel grounds but with its own private gardens, has two master suites with frescoed ceilings, a vast living-dining-lounging room with tall French doors opening onto mint costiera vistas, and a small private staff, including a chef from the hotel’s restaurant.
