To celebrate France playing host this month to golf’s most prestigious team event – the Ryder Cup at Le Golf National, just outside Paris – The Peninsula Paris has launched Play VIP Golf (starting Saturday September 1, from €1,750 per person, four guests maximum), giving rare access to three of the most exclusive courses within striking distance.

After a night’s sleep in one of the hotel’s belle époque rooms (from €990), players can choose to play a round at a championship club, including the Chantilly Golf Club, the Fontainebleau Golf Club or the Saint-Cloud Golf Club – which has views of the Eiffel Tower. Return transfers in the hotel’s signature Mini are included, as is a dedicated caddy for the day and a three-course clubhouse feast at the end of the round.

For aficionados, there’s also the option of a four-day programme (from Monday October 1 €5,260 per person). Here, guests will gain entry to Le Golf National – the course used just days before by the Europe and America’s top 24 players for the Ryder Cup. Set a little southeast of the 16th arrondissement and the exquisitely manicured Gardens of Versailles, Le Golf National is also considered home base for the French Golf Federation. Just as with Play VIP Golf, participants will have access to the Saint-Cloud Golf Club, Les Bordes International and the Chantilly Golf Club.
