Kaluma Ski(, which started out agenting chalets and hotels in Courchevel 1850, is now offering heliskiing in Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula – seven nights and eight hours of helicopter flight time (from£4,995 per person) opens up the possibility of skiing 50 vertical kilometres in a week, with tours led by Austrian mountain guide Andy Thurner. Even newer are Kaluma’s Georgia itineraries, including heliskiing in Gudauri (pictured), the inaugural seven-night expedition in February costing £5,195 per person (excluding flights), with a guaranteed minimum of 20km of exhilarating downhill sport.
