Things are progressing in St Kitts at Christophe Harbour(www.christopheharbour.com), the megayacht-marina development spearheaded by former Kiawah Partners CEO Charles P (“Buddy”) Darby III, which aspires to be the pre-eminent luxury yachting destination in these parts. The first months of 2017 will see – along with a raft of high-end boutiques and a new-build customs house in what’s known as Marina Village – the opening of the promisingly lovely Park Hyatt St Kitts (www.stkitts.park.hyatt.com; from $444) on a pristine curve of white beach, with a prime view over The Narrows. Its 78 rooms and 48 suites trade in sleeked-up island cool, with whitewashed wainscoting and plantation shutters offsetting the staunchly contemporary furnishings.
