For an ultra-chic cinema experience this December, The Berkeley Hotel rooftop will be transformed into a bosky enclave, showing cherished classic Christmas films (£65 per ticket). Sup homemade hot chocolate under Moncler down blankets while favourites such as Santa Claus: The Movie and Miracle on 34thStreet are shown on a giant screen.
The upgraded cinema experience starts with the seats – four custom-made wooden cabins will house two guests in each, and as well as Moncler blankets there will be heaters and hot water bottles to keep viewers cosy.
Putting virtuousness aside, the hotel’s health club and spa (where the rooftop is located) will be serving winter warmers such as homemade mulled wine and mince pies as well as hot chocolate – or champagne and canapés for the deluxe offering (£85 per ticket) – from December 1 to December 31, excluding December 25.
“Our rooftop garden allows us to be a little creative during the winter months,” says hotel general manager Knut Wylde, “and we hope our Winter Cinema overlooking Hyde Park brings some festive cheer.”
For those who want to extend the festive experience at the hotel, a Christmas package (from £1,450 per room for two nights) includes Midnight Mass at St Paul’s Church in Knightsbridge, Christmas stockings for children and a horse-drawn ride around Belgravia.
