Etón Blackout Buddy H20

Silly Street: a battery-less emergency torch activated by water

A torch was always a stocking-filler staple for small boys, and this is a neat 2014-style evolution, particularly as it’s actually an emergency light carrying the logo of the American Red Cross. The Blackout Buddy has no batteries; it is activated by dipping it in water, whereupon it shines for 24 hours – without the option to turn it off. Wet it again and you’ll get another two beams of bright white light for up to 72 hours. Intriguing – and not un-useful.
