I am no horticulturalist, having neither the green fingers nor the patience to grow anything, but that hasn’t kept me from falling in love with this superb-looking indoor mini-farm, the first Estonian product I have ever featured. (Actually, it’s from Hiiumaa island, 30km off the mainland.)
Click & Grow Smart Herb Garden is a stunningly designed thing. The bright, height-variable LED lights are programmed to turn on and off at the optimum frequency; a clever mechanical water-level indicator lets you know when to top up the tank; and an app assists your farming enterprise with intel and reminders, although in truth, not much assistance is needed. The manufacturer supplies little ready-to-grow pots pre-sown with a wide variety of seeds that flourish into satisfying crops, from amazingly aromatic basil to chilli peppers and French marigolds. And only one of my neighbours commented on what she thought was “the cutest little cannabis factory!” in our kitchen window.
The same startup also makes bigger, even better-looking, “wall farms” that have electronic water-level indicators and in which you can grow a wide variety of crops.
