Koubachi Wi-Fi Plant Sensor

A remote alert for forlorn flora

We’re all for technology round here, but this – admittedly slick – Swiss gadget I found in a remote corner of the IFA electronics show in Berlin seems to be taking it a bit far. The Koubachi Wi-Fi Plant Sensor lives in a flower pot and shares information on the soil moisture, temperature and light level of the room via your Wi-Fi network, which duly informs your iPhone, wherever in the world you are, if your plant is unhappy. At which point you can’t do very much, really, except fret about it.
