My personal style signifier is my collection of bracelets. I suppose this habit started with my parents, who give each other bracelets of simple, red silk ribbon at the beginning of every year and then wear them until they fall off. My wrist is crowded with mementos: from my girlfriend, my family, friends and from special places I want to remember. Put simply, I can see my life at a glance on my wrist: I still wear the bracelet I bought when I first visited Ibiza just after my 18th birthday; it is now 12 years old.
The last thing I bought and loved was my kitesurf board, designed by my girlfriend and me; as my girlfriend is from Brazil I mixed the naval flags of my home town of Naples and my new second home of Brazil. It is unique and was made for me by a craftsman in Northern Italy. Tosi Designer Studios, +3933-9773 4676.
And the thing I’m eyeing next is a Vacheron Constantin watch from the 1960s or 1970s. It is very thin and by today’s standards very small, but I think that this style is very chic and different. www.vacheron-constantin.com.
The last music I downloaded was by The Strokes. I love them; they make me feel young.www.thestrokes.com.
In my fridge you’ll always find a favourite rosé wine of mine, Château du Galoupet, made by a friend. And in summer, fresh burrata and tomatoes. £12.95; London Wine Shippers, www.newlondonwine.com.
The books on my bedside table are The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, and Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach, but they have been there for a long time. I am not much of a reader and I prefer to live life rather than read about it.
The best gift I’ve given recently is a jumpsuit from OnePiece of Norway, to my girlfriend; and I bought one for myself. It was a sentimental present to celebrate three years together, and by its nature something that would be just for us. I have given her jewellery as well, but this was something special, more “me”. From $159; www.onepiece.com.
And the best one I’ve received recently was a vintage flat Zenith watch, from my twin sister Chiara, for our birthday. I usually don’t wear a watch but since I got it I cannot leave my house without it – it looks great with anything. People don’t expect me to wear something discreet, as I love colourful clothes. I was also recently given a pair of blue espadrilles made by Manebi; they are very cool and I wore them all summer. From €35; www.manebigroup.com. www.zenith-watches.com.
An unforgettable place I’ve travelled to in the past year is Aspen, Colorado. This was the first time I had been skiing outside of Europe, and it was amazing. For a bet with some friends I went snowboarding in a double-breasted grey flannel suit.
The grooming staples I’m never without – well, the ones I tend to use anyway – are our own Rubinacci Cologne or Acqua di Parma Colonia, and Hermès Eau d’Orange Verte body lotion and body-cleansing shower gel. Acqua di Parma Colonia, from £47; www.acquadiparma.it. Hermès Eau d’Orange Verte gel, £35, lotion, £36; www.hermes.com. Rubinacci Cologne,€120; marianorubinacci.net.
The last meal that truly impressed me was, as usual and never often enough, the farfalle pasta with zucchini at La Conca del Sogno, in Nerano on the Amalfi Coast. Via Marciano 9, Nerano 80061, Massa Lubrense (+3981-808 1036; www.concadelsogno.it).
And the best souvenir I’ve brought home is the happy memory of my time passed in the Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro, in the Aspen highlands. Back at home my entire outfit smelled of raclette. I also bought a beautiful hand-knitted heavy sweater in a market there. Like all the things I buy, it is unlikely that I will see another being worn by someone else. 76 Boomerang Road, Aspen, Colorado 81611 (+1970-544 3063; www.aspensnowmass.com).
My favourite websites are The Sartorialist, for fashion and street style; NOO for everyday lifestyle, and Kitesurfing, which I am passionate about. www.kitesurfing.it. www.noo.com.br. www.thesartorialist.com.
