A new fabric from Stone Island

Presenting an array of triple-bonded jackets with a special-forces aesthetic

A new fabric from perpetual innovator Stone Island is making its debut. The triple‑bonded 3L is like high‑performance cotton Ventile, which was devised during the second world war to be breathable yet waterproof and warm, due to its extremely tight knit. By bonding two ultrafine layers with a third breathable, wind/water-resistant membrane, Stone Island has produced a light material that feels and looks good, ages beautifully and espouses a special-forces action-kit quality. There’s a simple black field jacket with four inset pockets (£595), a brilliant parka (£625, pictured above) and an excellent bomber (£595) from the Shadow Project collection, with patch pockets, ergonomically cut sleeves and a stealthy “ghost” version of the brand’s iconic badge.
