Drake’s sets up shop on Savile Row
After eight years on London’s Clifford Street, acclaimed outfitter Drake’s is moving this month to Savile Row. The new store will offer its usual dapper clothing and accessories, as well as a dedicated space for its made-to-order service. “It’s a chance to show off the Drake’s world a bit more and to express our personality,” says creative director Michael Hill. New examples of the brand’s typically well-curated and constructed menswear include five‑pocket trousers (£295) in an extraordinary deep-blue Japanese selvedge corduroy and a hefty dry-yarn lambswool Aran jumper (£355) that packs serious knitwear wallop.
Tod’s exciting new hybrid footwear
Tod’s is extending its line of hybrid footwear with boots that meld hiking styles with trainer constructions. The most exciting is the Calza mountain boot (£510), which is made with an ultra-light, sock-style high top and features suede panels, a chunky sole and craggy outdoor look. I particularly like the moss-green colourway with vivid orange laces. All the styles include lace hook details and have hiking tread embellished with a macro version of the brand’s signature Gommino sole.
