The Blackhorse Lane denim atelier, based in London’s Walthamstow, has opened a new shop in Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross, decked out with sewing machines, video screens and a 6m wooden table centrepiece made from a tree cut down near Euston Station to make way for the HS2 railway.

Founded by Bilgehan “Han” Ates in 2015, the company has quickly gained traction for its elegantly designed, locally made jeans, including the E5 (from £155) relaxed tapered jean and the new, straight take (from £175) on the NW3 cut.
