Sean Flynn, noted war photographer and son of actor Errol Flynn, disappeared in Cambodia in 1970 while covering the Vietnam war. Fellow photographer Tim Page recently shared unseen images of Flynn with his friend Nigel Cabourn, which inspired the designer to create a vintage combat-influenced collection. A faded colour scheme and remarkable fabrics developed with textile designer Riccardo Bruni creates the impression that the pieces have actually seen a tour of duty – although Cabourn is at pains to point out: “I don’t in any way condone combat itself. Sean was trying to cover all sides of the story, and expose the truth of what was happening in Vietnam.” The Nam field jacket (£770) in golden gabardine, a mesh camo hooded coat (£675) and scarf (£210), and fatigue pants (£445) with multiple pockets in camo are the standouts.
