Eminently wearable menswear from new brand Enlist

Superfine merino-wool knits and ultra-soft shearling coats are among the label’s sophisticated but minimalist pieces

Amid the vaunted but often unwearable insanity of London Fashion Week Men’s, I came upon an eminently wearable collection from new British brand Enlist, founded by Mario Arena and Peter Farrow, which combines simple design, considered minimalist detailing and exceptional fabrics. The extraordinarily soft, lightweight shearling coats (£1,695) are what first attracted me: the New Zealand fleece is hand-clipped to create an irregular curl, then washed in lanolin conditioner, while the leather is polished. Cable-knit jumpers (£195) and rollnecks (£225) are made with merino wool, some of whose superfine yarns are twisted together to give density and a faintly glossy finish.
