Gildo Zegna is a buoyant character, even on his quietest days; but when I met him in June at his menswear show in Milan, he was positively bouncing off the walls. “When I showed our new ‘Wash&Go’ suit to our flagship store after it had been through its wash, I got a round of applause from the staff of 60!” Zegna told me. “It even looked good creased!” The Wash&Go is a new Turati suit (€1,300) made from Zegna’s own Techmerino fabric, which can be washed at 30° in a conventional machine – and come out just fine. It’s a simple and unstructured matte fabric, in navy or charcoal grey, and comes with  a drawstring-top, sportif trouser. (The jacket actually does look good unpressed – and with a little steam, it returns quickly to a more formal look.)
