Natty new knitwear by Margaret Howell

Woollen pieces steal the show in both her own collection and her collaboration with the legendary Marion Foale

Marion Foale was a cutting-edge knitwear designer in the 1960s who became a British institution, producing yarns and patterns, as well as distinctly textured knitwear. This season, Margaret Howell continues her collaboration with Foale on some lightly ribbed scarves (£185) in hand garter stitch three-ply wool. In Howell’s own collection, do check out the handsome three-ply wool navy fisherman’s jumper (£625) with a funnel neck, an ebony merino cashmere Guernsey round-neck tank (£325), black suede floppy-brimmed fedoras (£225) and lovely oversized earth-toned bandanas (£85).
