A highlight of the season for me is Hermès alumnus Christophe Lemaire’s winter collection, which manages the improbable feat of looking distinctly non-standard while being completely wearable.
The long shawl cardigans (£740) in virgin wool, and organic knits (£1,100) in earth and jewel hues are spot on. I love the longer teddy-boy jackets (£845) and pleated trousers (£505), cut in very of-the-moment wool/gabardine. Brilliant oversized urban utilitarian outerwear — a Lemaire speciality — includes engulfing raincoats (£1,225) in cotton/wool and a reversible overcoat in wool/gabardine (£1,130).
