The first Haider Ackermann collection for Berluti

Luxurious, composed clothing in super-refined fabrics

Haider Ackermann’s debut collection for Berluti was my favourite show of the season – not least because the clothes, while luxurious and composed, were also very wearable, an effect underscored by the varied ages of the “unfashiony” models. On closer examination, these clothes demonstrated Ackermann’s exceptional fabrics, such as cashmere for an eight-button double-breasted jacket (£3,250), and a modernised shantung silk for khaki-style trousers (price on request). Serious outerwear statements included a virgin-wool and angora coat with an astrakhan collar (£5,700) and a black trench (£3,150) with leather detailing on the wrists and under the collar.  More subtle pieces, like a cashmere coat (£3,850) and “jogging”-inspired trousers made from a super-refined cashmere/wool blend (£940) were also highly covetable.
