Adding to a retail roll call that already includes Prada, Paul Smith and N Peal, Oxfordshire’s Bicester Village will bolster its impressive menswear credentials this summer with the addition of three notable British pop-ups.
The smartly tailored, vibrant swimwear of Orlebar Brown (open until October 9) includes now-iconic designs based on artworks and 1960s culture. Among the highlights are the swimshorts inspired by Slim Aarons’ famous photographs of the “Splasherati” enjoying the Riviera and Palm Beach lifestyles, both of which (£149) are available here.
Playful prints and luxurious nightwear will be front and centre at Liberty London (until September 10), most notably in its matching silk pyjama sets (£192) and eye masks (£32.50). There will also be a selection of the distinctive scarves, stationery and impeccably crafted leather accessories that have become synonymous with the West End store.
For those who like to smell, as well as look, the part, perfume house Clive Christian (until 17 September) will bring its inaugural Original Collection to Bicester, featuring three fragrances each made up of two distinct but complementary scents. 1872 (£165 for 100ml) is a floral and fruity blend with a citrus edge; X (£186 for 100ml) is an enigmatic, woody chypre scent; while there are glimmers of the oriental and outright opulence in No 1 (£270 for 50ml).
