Crafted from solid sand-cast brass that rests satisfyingly in the hand, this bottle opener was created by the Japanese designer Masanori Oji for a foundry dating from the late 19th century, which originally specialised in Buddhist altar fittings. Ingeniously simple and eminently functional, it develops a rich patina with use, imparting added character to what is already an object of singular beauty.
