Along with earning lavish praise for its much-anticipated collections, Vetements has thrown away much of the rule book on how to go about style – notably by conscripting other brands such as Mackintosh for collaborations commissioned in line with the house’s oversized, deconstructed aesthetic. Founded by the brothers Gvasalia (creative director Demna, also at Balenciaga, and chief executive Guram), Vetements is anti-designer and anti-trend, taking its lead from what the design team happens to be into. This season sees an eclectic mix of Texan Lucchese cowboy boots, custom Levi’s and oversized Mackintosh coats: a trench (£2,950) with exaggerated detailing and a car coat version (£2,200) with scaled-back sleeves.
