Canine couture may seem an unlikely term, but with a repertoire that includes Italian leather, horn buttons, moleskin lining, Liberty prints and bespoke tailoring, that’s exactly what Baker & Bray brings to the online pet accessories market. With coats, jackets, collars, leads and stylish neckties, the e-store was inspired by the founder’s grandmothers and reflects British heritage design.
Starting with traditional wet-weather gear, the site offers a plethora of choice, from the Hampstead hoodie (from £130), lined with a pretty Liberty print, to the Mayfair lounger (from £96), which is based on 1950s smoking jackets. Equally chic is the Kensington trench (from £144, pictured), practically equipped with working pockets (for your keys, not theirs, naturally). All are made out of water-resistant cotton with moleskin lining, and can be tailored to fit or customised.
The boutique is equally good for basics, featuring high-quality collars and leads. The Paris leash (£90), for example, comes in forest green, caramel or chestnut embossed leather, complemented by sturdy stainless-steel hardware. Accessorise with a reversible cotton necktie (£24, pictured) in a paisley, ditsy or camo print, and your pooch will be the best dressed in the park.
