Arion 1725 is a recently launched firm specialising in Swarovski-crystal-studded vessels. Founded by Joaquín Fernández de Córdova Hohenlohe, the Duke of Arion, the brand is bringing extra dazzle to drinks and dining tables with its glassware (from $95 for two glasses) customised to a client’s individual, sparkly specifications.
The starting point is Arion 1725’s sculptural Marqués de Povar collection – an elegant range of wine glasses, flutes and decanters that are enhanced by the application of 80 crystals to the bowl and stem – but the possibilities for customisation (from $45 per glass) are endless. Monograms, logos and vivid patterns can be wrought in Swarovski crystals in over 100 colours, and ranging in size from 0.8mm to 14mm, to add either a subtle twinkly flourish or a dazzling pavé effect using upwards of 500 crystals.
The client’s initial ideas are worked into sketches, followed by digital mock-ups by in-house designers, and the glassware is delivered in approximately six weeks. Each delicate-looking Arion 1725 piece is created using Swarovski’s patented ultraviolet-light glue, making the design not only durable but pleasingly dishwasher-tested.
